Built from one of the most legendary leaks in Pokémon history. The Pokémon Gold and Silver Spaceworld ’97 demo is an early build of Gold and Silver shown at Nintendo Space World in November 1997, when the final game was still planned for the original monochrome Game Boy and was about 80% complete according to estimates at the time. Due to a complete overhaul, the final game wasn’t released until two years later, in late 1999 — leaving this build buried for over two decades until the ROM unexpectedly leaked online in May 2018.
Pokémon Super Gold ’97 is a fan-made ROM hack built around that leaked data, reconstructing a playable Gold and Silver experience true to the Spaceworld ’97 build — featuring its unique town, its different starting conditions, and many of the 100 unused Pokémon designs that never made it into the final 1999 release, restored and made playable for the first time in a complete game.
