Nintendo GBA AGS Aging Test Cartridge – The Official Diagnostic Tool for Game Boy Advance & SP
The AGS Aging Cartridge is Nintendo’s own hardware diagnostic tool, used on the factory floor during GBA production and at Nintendo-authorized repair centres to verify that every unit leaving their hands was functioning correctly. It runs a comprehensive series of hardware tests designed to identify faults across all of the GBA’s core systems — screen, buttons, sound, and more — and was never sold at retail.
This custom cartridge reproduces the AGS Aging test software on a standard GBA cartridge shell, giving collectors, repair technicians, and hardware enthusiasts access to the same diagnostic suite Nintendo used internally. It’s the ideal tool for testing a GBA or GBA SP after a screen mod, speaker replacement, capacitor repair, or any other hardware work — and a satisfying collector piece for anyone interested in the behind-the-scenes infrastructure of Nintendo hardware servicing.
