Star Ocean: Blue Sphere is one of the great lost JRPGs of the Game Boy Color era. Developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix in June 2001, it is a direct sequel to the acclaimed PlayStation title Star Ocean: The Second Story — set two years later on the mysterious planet Edifice, where the twelve heroes of The Second Story are pulled together once more by an unknown force. Enix had tentatively planned a Western release, but cancelled it to focus on the newly launched Game Boy Advance, leaving Western fans locked out for nearly two decades.
