This is an interesting side-scrolling RPG with a semi-active battle system, released by Gowin in 2002, and based on Wang Dulu’s novel of the same name. (According to the game’s packaging and Gowin’s website, it was indeed licensed from the original novel, although they understandably put more emphasis on the connection to Ang Lee’s film, which had been a massive success a couple of years prior)
