Metroid Gravity: Sylux’s Crusade v1.0.1 – A Metroid Prime 4 Prequel Starring Sylux
Roebloz returns with his third serious Zero Mission hack, and this time the story reaches further into the Metroid universe than any fan hack before it. Gravity: Sylux’s Crusade casts you as Sylux — the enigmatic bounty hunter whose rivalry with Samus has been teased since Metroid Prime: Hunters and whose role in Metroid Prime 4 has been years in the making — in a self-contained prequel set aboard a Space Pirate research station. An experimental Nightmare unit, stolen from the Galactic Federation and now gone rogue, is generating a black hole at the station’s core. Sylux has to stop it.
Built for the MetroidConstruction Star Base contest under strict restrictions — a hard cap of 60 rooms total — Roebloz found clever ways to pack enormous density into a compact space, exploiting contest rules around elevator rooms and maximising what each chamber contains. The result is the most genuinely open hack in his catalogue: progression is almost entirely player-determined, with the only real gating being your own skill at navigating the tougher lower areas. Go for the strongest upgrades immediately, or play it safe and stack Energy Tanks first — the station is yours to tackle in whatever order you can manage.
Multiple ending images reward full exploration, and the branching paths through the station mean no two runs through Gravity feel quite the same. A 100% playthrough runs around two hours, but chasing every ending and testing every route stretches that considerably.
If you already have Crocomire’s Last Stand from the store, Gravity is Roebloz’s direct follow-up — a companion piece with a different protagonist, a different structural philosophy, and a story thread that ties directly into one of Nintendo’s most anticipated sequels.
